“Before and after knowing Sozo, this process is like my transformation time. I have changed so many things in a positive way: I have more confidence in communication skill that I had a lot of struggles before; my English skills are also better, not really excellent but I can feel comfortable to talk, to read, to listen and to write. More than that, at Sozo, I can be loved by Sozo members, Sozo is like my second family, now I am a main member of it, and this is meaningful to me. For those who has not known about Sozo yet, just come and experience with us, your life will be changed!”

“Not a day goes by without me thinking of you. I was impacted so much by your friendship. The way you care, helping each other, apologizing if something went wrong, lifting each other up, giving correction if needed and always encouraging, cheering all the CHIs and ANHs and EMs up and on. Your action always spoke louder than words. Your friendship and your time spending with me influenced my character and my life more than you will ever know. And I’m just one of many. Now you will continue this work in a new place. You have been given a lot and you gave a lot. Never underestimate your talent and your voice. Your words and action change the world.”

“It's such a amazing journey I have been with Sozo for 6 years! I love Sozo as my second family!
I Remember I used to be a passive, unconfident girl with bad English skills and lack of life skills… I can see I've had a great transformation with many precious lessons I’ve learned here and I have been influenced by a lot of great people I've met here.
How blessed I am to grow up, to improve, to learn and to be loved. And surely I know my journey with Sozo is still ahead.
I'm happy to see any student who is shy, not good at English at his/ her first day at Sozo, then become more active, confident and contribute to society through community works, because I see me in his/her image.
One sister at Sozo told me this: "Freely receive freely give!" and I really love it! It's great when anyone who comes to Sozo receives the good things then they will spread this spirit to everyone else out there!”

“I’ve opened my heart for others more since I joined Sozo. Furthermore, I’ve become more confident, not completely but better, and more flexible in my daily life. Especially, I’ve found love in this place, not only the mutual love among brotherhood & sisterhood at Sozo but also the love between people and people through the activities for community, unfortunate people or even strangers on streets. I can say LOVE is the distinctive feature of Sozo. I believe whenever & wherever love is, life will definitely be more beautiful. Hence, “why don’t we let everything be done in LOVE”?”

Since I join Sozo, I've made a lot of new friends, who are very young, active and talented. My English skills has been developed also, I'm becoming more and more fluent in speaking English. Thanks to Sozo, my schedule now is full of fun and meaningful activities so I've never wasted time anymore.”

Working at Sozo, I have had chances to learn and do things that I had not had opportunity before. I could gain valuable experiences from serving customers at Sozo and outdoor event such as the fairs and parties. I have learned administration works to handle documents and work with govern offices. More than these, I have had learn to bake at Sozo, which I had thought too difficult for me. Thanks Sozo for letting me experience so many things.

KHANH – Vietnamese, 3 years with Sozo
Before knowing Sozo, I was quite a conservative person. I don't forgive people for what they did wrong to me and I have a habit of judging people around me. However, since I come to Sozo and volunteer there, I can feel that I gradually change to be better. Not only I earned new skills and experience, but I also learned how to open myself with people, how to accept them without judging and how to forgive. I'm forever grateful for what I've got from this place. Sozo is more than just a normal café.
TRACY – Vietnamese, 3 years with Sozo
“I started my time at Sozo as a Tea talker who knew very little of English and always felt shy when starting a conversation. Everything was very weird and new at that time. However, with the help from other friendly and passionate volunteers and great activities, I have learnt and become more mature and confident in using English as not only a tool for communication but also my background knowledge improvement. Again, I am very grateful for all of the things that I have been achieving”
HẰNG - Vietnamese, 1 year with Sozo
Before coming to Sozo, I didn’t have many things to do. All I did everyday were: going to university, coming home, eating and sleeping. I was very bored because I felt myself useless: no new friends, no traveling, no charity works which I like to do so much.
From the day I joined Sozo, my life has changed so much. I have more sisters and brothers who take care of me, inspire me greatly, give me a lot of advice and Sozo becomes my second family in this city. I become more confident as well; I have a lot of foreigner friends who are closed to me and I have chances to travel with Sozo to some amazing places. Besides, I feel useful and meaningful when I help other people by charity activities at Sozo because I really love them.
